Hattie Beasley was 20 years old and living in Ash Grove with her husband Guy Beasley when she gave birth to a female infant on October 1, 1910. The infant lived only several hours. She was interred the following day, October 2nd, in the Berry Cemetery in Ash Grove.
According to the infant's death certificate, Guy Beasey was born in Springfield while Hattie (Coleman) Beasley was born in Seymour, Missouri in 1890. Hattie had been living in the Ash Grove area since at least 1900; according to the US Census, in 1900, 9-year-old Hattie was living with her siblings, grandmother, mother, and father on the outskirts of Ash Grove. By 1910, Hattie had married Guy Beasley and the couple was living in a rented house just one or two doors down from Hattie's family. At the time, Guy worked for the Ash Grove Cement Company, as did Hattie's father and two of her brothers (1910 US Census, Boone Township, Greene County, MO; 1900 US Census, Boone Township, Greene County, MO;State of Missouri Death Certificate for Infant Beasley, Greene County, October 2, 1910).
Grave Marker: The Beasley infant's specific place of burial in the Berry Cemetery is unknown and there is no individual headstone for her.
