R. S. Jones (Rufus Jones?) November 28, 1854 - December 20, 1892
R.S. Jones almost certainly refers to Rufus Jones. According to the gravestone, R.S. Jones was born in 1854 and died in 1892. In 1881, Rufus Jones was living in Dade County, and married Martha Jane Robinson (see entry for Jones, Martha Jane)at the Ash Grove home of Flem Murray on February 10, 1881. U.S. Census records indicate that Rufus Jones died before 1900, which accords with the death date engraved on the gravestone of R.S. Jones(Russel 2012).
Grave Marker: The grave marker for R. S. Jones is a tablet style monument on a limestone base. The west face of the stone bears engraved text on the central and lower areas and decorative imagery of a triangle and floral motifs in the upper area. Excluding the base, the monument is 19 x 10 x 4 inches in size. The base is 4 x 16 x 10 inches in size. A rectangular tablet style limestone footstone with the initials "R. S." is located just west of the headstone,
